01
THE GAME CLIENT

Install the official beta.

Already have the compatible client? Continue to step 2. Otherwise, install Battle.net from Blizzard, then open it once.

Press Windows + R, type cmd and press Enter. Paste this command, then follow Battle.net's installation instructions:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\Battle.net.exe" --game=wow_classic_beta --install

The launcher currently targets 1.60.1.70450. The beta must be available to your Blizzard account; this command does not grant access. If Battle.net offers another build or says you are not eligible, contact the server team. Do not mix files from different game versions.

02
YOUR SERVER ACCOUNT

Make it yours.

Create an account here on wowforever.co.za. You will use its email address and password to sign in to the game.

Create a server account

This is separate from your Blizzard account. Choose a different password and never share it.

03
ONE SMALL CONNECTION TOOL

Download QuickPlay.

Use WoW Forever SA, the player launcher prepared for this server. Download the executable directly from this website, or use the MediaFire archive.

The download is the connection tool, not the game. The direct EXE is ready to use. Source code and licence. If you choose the MediaFire RAR, extract it first.

04
PUT IT NEXT TO YOUR GAME

Choose your game folder.

Copy WoW Forever SA.exe into your World of Warcraft installation folder — the one containing both Data and _classic_beta_.

World of Warcraft/
├── Data/
├── _classic_beta_/
└── WoW Forever SA.exe

You can also keep the launcher in another folder. On first launch, select the installation folder when asked; QuickPlay remembers it.

05
YOU ARE READY FOR THE CONNECTION TEST

Launch. Sign in. Choose Normal.

Close any running WoW beta client. Double-click WoW Forever SA.exe normally, not as administrator. Read the testing notice, then let it check the client and the server connection.

When the game opens, enter your server account email and password, select Normal and create or choose your character.

Keep QuickPlay running near the Windows clock while playing. It closes when the game exits. Battle.net's own Play button connects to Blizzard, not to this server.

IF SOMETHING GETS IN THE WAY

A little help before you play.

“Secure login is not ready” or a certificate error

The server operator needs to finish its certificate setup and restart the login service. Contact the team. Do not install random certificates or disable certificate checks.

My client build is different

This testing release targets 1.60.1.70450. Ask the team which client and connector to use. Do not edit the version number or mix game files.

The game disconnects after selecting Normal

The operator is still validating the build 70450 client/core connection. Send the exact error message and your connection log so the team can investigate.

Where do I find the log?

Right-click QuickPlay's icon near the Windows clock and choose “Open connection log”. You can also open %LocalAppData%\WoWForeverSA\QuickPlay\player.log. Never include your password in a report.

Windows or my antivirus shows a warning

The community launcher is not digitally signed. Download it only from the links on this page. If security software blocks it, stop and report the detection to the team; do not disable your protection.
